About My Clients
If life feels overwhelming or like you do not quite belong anywhere, I want you to know that your unique way of looking at the world is not the problem. There is so much suffering and the least we can do is alleviate the suffering within ourselves. With mindfulness and other evidence-based skills, we can explore your world together.
My Background and Approach
I am a master's candidate at Naropa University studying Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology. My drive as a counselor is to help people confront and move through the suffering they experience, both in traumatic events and through everyday life. I believe each person has the ability to find their inner courage and transform difficult experiences into empowerment and joy. My strengths in a therapeutic setting include a calm demeanor, humor, willingness to talk about the dark parts of life, and a nonjudgmental attitude. My counseling interests include death and dying, addiction, trauma, and marginalized identities. I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). Both in the therapeutic space and outside of it, I passionately advocate for those without the voice they deserve. To improve one person's life is to make the world a better place.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone holds inherent wisdom and deserves to find their voice. I know what it is like to lose that voice and try to conform to a system. In my previous careers, I worked to give voice to voiceless and work within systems to achieve change. My chosen family includes people with marginalized identities.
