About My Clients
I work with people who are struggling to understand their pain in life and relationships. Sometimes, my clients are stuck in survival mode because wounds from past abuse or negative societal messages interfere with self -compassion and setting healthy boundaries. Sometimes, my clients choose therapy because they want to feel better, and have healthier connections, but do not understand why they feel the way they feel. They want to feel better, and don't know where to begin. I can help!
My Background and Approach
We are as happy and healthy as our connections! I am a relationship therapist whether I am working with an individual, or a couple. I will support you in exploring how you engage others in getting your needs met. How well is this working for you? Do you have habits that keep you from getting what you want? Sometimes, I help people to confront and successfully redesign their approaches to relationships. I have worked extensively with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have seen many clients make major improvements in their lives by setting healthier boundaries, and learning how to promote safety and well being. My goal is always for you to experience feeling seen and heard in my office, and to empower you to pursue your best life outside of my office!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people will thrive when they feel safe and have the right support. I am a strong advocate for human rights and am congruent in surrounding myself with a community of like minded people both personally and professionally. If you are from a marginalized community, know that I support you and I see you, in my community and in my therapy office. I am passionate about women's rights, take an active anti-racist stance, am LGBTQ affirmative, and acknowledge that I am a person of privilege with a constant duty to learn and to educate myself. I welcome dialogue surrounding this and will engage with humility.
