Maybe the thought of going to the store and worrying about what others are thinking about you, if they're judging you, is stopping you from living your life. I get it. You know what you need to do but just can't seem to take that next step. You seem to get stuck in your head. You're tired of only surviving and want to thrive. I can help you to find the skills and techniques that work for you so that you can start to live your life.
My Background and Approach
I have 8 years of experience as a counselor as well as an additional 3 years as a case manager while I was in graduate school. Much of that time was spent in crisis situations so I've heard and seen a lot. This means you can be you while knowing that I have the experience to be able to give you a safe space to express yourself. I believe that learning about the individual and who they are as a person is the best way to figure out how to best help an individual as they take control of their own life. I enjoy helping others figure out what works for them and watching them grow as a result. I would describe my style as warm, direct, solution-oriented, and humorous (when possible). The two main approaches I use in sessions are person-centered and self-compassion. This means our sessions are built around you, your goals, and who you are as an individual. My number one priority is your well-being and we'll work together to achieve that goal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe real change comes from within. You have to be the one to make changes in your life. I will meet you where you are currently at and together, we will work toward the goals you set. This is your journey, I'm here to walk beside you and support you. I will be honest but kind.
