My Background and Approach
Hello, my name is Cassandra Murrow; in 2006, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Bachelors of Science of Social Work from Metropolitan State College of Denver, followed by a Master of Science in Social Work Degree in 2010 from Newman University. I spent the next 8 1/2 years working for Child Protective Services, specializing in child sexual abuse, working with both victims and offenders. For the past 12 years, I have worked at a crisis line, speaking with clients over the phone. These calls could be anything from someone being lonely and needing to talk to someone to actively suicidal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work with adult individuals. I believe in an approach in which the counseling process is a collaborative alliance, with clients considered experts in their own lives. Clients can discover their inner strengths to promote positive change. I have various therapeutic modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psycho-educational therapy, and client-centered therapy.
