About My Clients

I help people with anxiety, depression, and chronic illness to get back in control and live the life they want. Our thoughts, memories, feelings, and bodily sensations make life so hard. Do they keep you from doing the things you want? Do you feel so overwhelmed you need to run or to escape? Do they make you regret the way you’ve lived? Do they keep you from people you care about? You don’t have to live this way. We can take steps to put you back in charge of you and your life.

My Background and Approach

My mission is to help you be proud of the person you are, get you doing the things you want, with the people you care about most. My unique approach focuses on what is important to you. We will always be working on something that really matters to you. I will teach you skills that will help you separate yourself from your problems and connect with what is meaningful to you. When it comes time to take action, I’ll be here to help all along the way. You do not have to feel lost anymore. I don’t believe having difficult thoughts and feelings makes you defective or ill - it is a human struggle, not you. Nothing you tell me can keep me from being here to help. I want to help you find a future where you look forward to getting up in the morning. I connect with my clients with humor and honesty. Let’s connect and start your better future now.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that most people are doing their best and that the challenges they encounter aren't due to some defect in personality or thinking. I believe that everyone has thoughts and feelings that are stressful, painful, sad, or disturbing -- but so many people think 'it is just me, no one else is like this'. This belief isolates us, and teaches us to believe that we are bad, mean, selfish, evil, depressive, unlovable, etc. What it really means is that we're all human. Humans can't control what our minds think or feel. We can tell it to think about something, but we cant stop it. If we could control it, we wouldn't be depressed, anxious, angry, scared, etc. In the face of these things it can feel impossible to accomplish the everyday (much less dreams). It can even feel like life isn't worth living. In therapy we can learn to be with these feelings and thoughts -- all the while working towards being the person we want and building the life we want to live.
