About My Clients
I have expertise working with many different populations and different unique individuals including the developmentally disabled, aging population, individuals with comorbid diagnoses and pediatrics. My goal is to heal and witness client progression through our virtual Art Therapy sessions through the creative arts.
My Background and Approach
I generally use a person-centered creative arts therapy approach which is the concept that the client is inherently driven towards and has the capacity for growth and self-actualization. However, depending on each individual case, many different therapeutic approaches such as the psychodynamic and gestalt approaches are utilized in my practice. We will always be creating an art directive whether it be a structured or unstructured art therapy directive in order to release emotion. Occasionally, if the client is up to it, we will create a crafty art project to also release emotion and promote enjoyment and creativity. The client's own analysis and discussion of the artwork will be the most important deciding factor in the therapy session. TherapeuticgGoals will be set for each individual case in order to monitor treatment progress. Yoga and meditation which helps an individual transcend physiological pain will take place in the closing of sessions. I look forward to working with you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe yoga and meditation is very important to healing. I believe creating art is also one of the most important and creative processes to overcoming trauma and different difficult circumstances. A visual representation is always important. Healing can take place when you work with a Licensed therapist that is trained to help you overcome your current difficult life situations. Listening for the therapist is one of the most important aspects in therapy but at the same time, the client needs to put in the effort to change his/her own life circumstances.
