My Background and Approach
I hold a MSW in clinical social work from the University of Kentucky, an M.Ed. in special education, and an MS in psychology and I'm currently a Doctor of Social Work student at the University of Kentucky. I have been licensed as a behavior analyst since 2021 and I'm currently pursuing full licensure as a clinical social worker. I have developed expertise in addressing anxiety (generalized anxiety, OCD, etc.), LGBTQ+ concerns, trauma, and eating disorders in both neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals. I have a clinical interest in working with young adults with ADHD and/or ASD. I enjoy combining behavior analytic techniques with psychotherapy, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy. All treatments that I utilize are evidence based and proven effective through behavioral science.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am proud to be a disabled healthcare provider. I am visually impaired, have mild hearing loss, and mild cerebral palsy. I'm neurodivergent and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. I got my start in clinical practice volunteering for Crisis Text Line in 2017, which in turn pushed me to pursue getting licensed to provide psychotherapy. Outside of clinical practice, I'm an adjunct assistant professor of psychology, sociology, and special education as well an adjunct online high school psychology teacher. I enjoy traveling, cafés, photography, and anything to do with the paranormal.
