About My Clients
My interests are working with clients whose issues involve anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, grief, stress management, marriage, or who are simply looking for more meaning in their lives. I believe in meeting a person where they are and helping to facilitate change in their life.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Liberty University in 2017 with a master’s in Professional Counseling, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. My therapy experience includes working with a wide range of cognitive abilities and severity of diagnoses in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings along with my own private practice. I have training in sand tray therapy and am Gottman Level One trained. I have a compassionate, collaborative approach, encouraging psychoeducation and mindfulness of cognitive and behavioral patterns, along with discovering meaning and purpose in the life. I strive to establish and maintain a professional relationship with my client, characterized by equality and cooperation that allows you to explore needs, perspectives, and goals. As a helper, I seek to come alongside you in offering encouragement and appropriate empirically sound interventions which may enhance the opportunities for you to experience growth and achieve personal goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe counseling should be theologically sound from a biblical perspective. Because we have the imprint of our Creator God, imago Dei, we bear a resemblance of various facets of His character – moral, rational, volitional, social, and others. As volitional creatures, that image was tarnished by choices made in the beginning which resulted in the Fall. Although the effects of original sin, as well as our own personal transgressions, impact us daily, God provided a bridge back to a restored relationship with Him – a transforming, redemptive, and saving encounter with His Son, Jesus Christ.
