About My Clients
Ever feel like you’re drowning in stress, anxiety, or depression without a lifeline? Are you grappling with grief, identity questions, or the weight of developmental trauma? If so, you're not alone; I'm here to help. My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to tackle these challenges head-on. I specialize in EMDR therapy, anger management, and more. We’ll create a personalized plan to navigate your struggles, fostering resilience and growth.
My Background and Approach
Connection is a fundamental human need, yet many people fear it. This longing for genuine connection often leads to therapy. The pandemic highlighted that connection with others is essential for mental and physical well-being. Our struggles to authentically connect often stem from the quality of our earliest relationships with caregivers. These experiences shape our attachment styles, influencing how we relate to others and understand ourselves. I specialize in exploring these early attachment experiences, examining how our brains and nervous systems adapted and how these survival strategies impact us today. I earned my master's in counseling in 2020 from St. Edward’s University in Austin. I am trained in EMDR, a technique for processing traumatic memories, and am currently training in Somatic Experiencing, which addresses trauma stored in the body. My focus is on attachment, developmental, and relational trauma—types of trauma that build up over time, starting in early childhood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The quality of your relationship with your therapist is the most important factor in determining the outcome of therapy. It’s so personal, and what works for someone else isn’t necessarily what’s best for you. I believe so strongly in the benefit of therapy because I’ve done a lot of work on myself with caring, skilled therapists over the years. It’s had a huge impact on my life, and when we’re working together, I hope you’ll be able to sense that I’ve been right where you are now – struggling with painful issues that feel insurmountable. I don’t know what it’s like to be you and to have lived your unique life, but I do understand what it’s like to be a therapy client looking for help and wanting to change. All I can offer to clients, ultimately, is my presence and my lived experience. I encourage you to reach out and contact me if you’d like to talk. I look forward to connecting with you.
