About My Clients
You struggle with feeling like no one gets you. Sometimes you struggle to understand yourself. It feels like "Groundhog Day," and you just want today to look and feel different... maybe even better. You've adapted and survived, often by stating that "it wasn't so bad," but at the same time, wondering how you ended up feeling so lost. You long for understanding, healing, and wellness. I look forward to helping you get there!
My Background and Approach
I am EMDRIA certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). I have advanced training in Ego State Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, treatment of Chronic Pain and Chronic Health Conditions, and treatment of Complex Trauma and Structural Dissociation. I utilize mindfulness, psychodynamic, and attachment-based therapy approaches in combination with EMDR. My passion is helping people find, reclaim, or create their own paths to meaning, connection, and self-confidence after surviving abuse (emotional, sexual, physical) or neglect (emotional, physical). I have a particular passion for helping survivors of narcissistic abuse, emotional neglect, gaslighting, chronic invalidation, and those struggling with dissociative disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After years of volunteer work addressing the needs of people struggling with the aftermath of extensive trauma histories and dissociative disorders, I became disheartened at the lack of resources available to help survivors heal. Trauma remains stuck in the body, and while many therapies address thoughts and behavioral symptoms, they often fall short of truly resolving the underlying causes of current problems. Without trauma resolution, symptoms often return. I remain passionate about helping people resolve past traumatic or distressing experiences, and move toward a healthy, balanced life free from shame, fear, anxiety, panic, self-destructive behaviors, suicidal thoughts, isolation, low self-worth, and detachment from self and others.
