About My Clients
I help couples who: • Are concerned that their relationship is drifting apart. • Feel stuck in in a pattern of hurtful arguments. • Feel resentful, disheartened, disappointed and worn down from trying to solve their relationship problems and are realizing they need help from someone else. • Going through a transition that has made family life more stressful such as going through a divorce, adjusting to being a two-home family, or struggling being a blended family.
My Background and Approach
I am both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 25-years of experience working in Wisconsin and Great Britain. I am Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with clients of all ages experiencing distress that is negatively impacting their emotional well-being, close relationships, and social, school or work functioning. I am on faculty at the Family Therapy Training Institute in Milwaukee where I teach and supervise students training to be Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I focus on what clients want to be different or changed in their lives as a result of seeing me. I aim to develop a working relationship based on trust, genuine caring and concern. I ensure that clients feel our sessions are a safe place where they don’t need to feel defensive, be open, can take risks, and where they can value the time working together to improve things. One of my top priorities is to make sure that the clients who come to see me benefit and achieve the results they are wanting. For this reason, in each session I will involve you in the monitoring of progress to track how well the therapy is going, so that I can make adjustments to help you get to where you want to go.
