About My Clients
I'm always inspired by the courage people find to feel their feelings and the decision to grow past one's present self. Holding space and allowing a person the time to live in life's questions and ask for what they need, helping someone to find the answers they are looking for is a great privilege and one I deeply enjoy. I work with adults, ranging from late teens to whenever you're ready. I practice a trauma-informed approach to therapy, which opens space for life and all that we go through.
My Background and Approach
I enjoy working with individuals that recognize they need support with what's going on in their life. We are not meant to do this work, this adventure, this life alone. I value the vulnerable places therapy takes us and offer a nonjudgmental space to untie the knots that you have found are causing problems. My background is in bodywork, and it is the lens that I look through. I blend this with a social justice perspective, as well as humanistic values. I believe it's important for all of us to feel seen and to have someone witness our life, pain and joy...it connects us to one another and helps us grow. I believe it's important to cultivate our idea of wellness and spirituality. I will encourage your curiosity of expression and explore your connection to self and those in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
What I know after being in therapy, that I truly did not know before, is that no matter what, I'm okay. I still experience pain and struggle in life but I now have the skills and understanding that I didn't have before therapy. I believe our ability to feel and deal with our emotions comes with practice. I believe therapy gives us all a chance to take a breath and ask ourselves important questions. Therapy gives us the space to explore the issues that have us feeling stuck, in pain, and wanting more. I can help you unpack your emotions and make better sense of what you are dealing with. Together we can come up with solutions that will help you heal and move forward in your life. I also believe it's important for me to continue my work as a white woman, to be an Ally, to listen and support marginalized groups. I support and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, I believe no one owns anyone else's life. I support you in your journey of growing and becoming YOU!
