My Background and Approach
Gina received trained in EMDR, Institute (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapy that helps many people find relief from stress, is practiced in the military for our veterans with PTSD and used to alleviate a multitude of mental health issues. This healing happens by getting to the root cause, using unconditional positive regard, resolving negative core beliefs and replacing with healthier thinking patterns. Another therapy modality that we incorporate is Neurofeedback, or EEG biofeedback, research proven to help you improve your optimal function through intensive brain training exercises. Neurofeedback is evidence based practice that decreases anxiety, depression, addictions and multiple cognitive and brain functioning issues with increased peak performance. 12-step work in a variety of programs, exposure to the healing practices and processes in programs like CODA, ACA, AA and SLAA aid clients to make fundamental positive change in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Due to COVID-19 and the recommendation to limit social engagements we are offering phone or video sessions. “Recognizing you need help is the first step towards healing. The act of asking another for help is the next step that takes courage, strength and vulnerability and you are worth it. I invite you to open the door, step through the threshold of change and new insights. Together, we will uncover long-standing behavior patterns or negative beliefs that may be preventing you from experiencing a more satisfying and meaningful life.” We work with young adults through people of all ages. My passion is especially for those in their 20's who are eager to work and change, from those entering the job market to college students, they face their own unique challenges. The Center for Authentic Healing and Counseling is an active supporter of the LGBTQ and 12-step communities.
