About My Clients

You are constantly on the go, juggling two or three things at the same time including the help you offer others because you can’t stop yourself. What will others say to your “No’s, what would they think of you? You fear their judgment. Sometimes, you just want to be left alone. You sometimes snap at people you love and then feel guilty. You don’t enjoy life like you used to. Where is the motivation you had before? I will help you feel more confident and have healthier relationships.

My Background and Approach

My clients describe me as an analyzer, cheerleader, listener, and a challenger. My approach is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness. This means that in session you will see me helping you notice your feelings, accept them and talk to yourself with kindness. I will also gently challenge your thoughts, the ones that are not helping you thrive. During our sessions we decide together what goal you would like to work on. Then we will work collaboratively to get you there. Every week you can expect to walk out of my office with a tool especially designed to reduce your specific struggles. I will encourage you to practice it throughout the week. You’ll soon find out that I have many tools to share with you. You will develop the ability to have healthier thoughts and habits that help you stay present, and feel good about yourself. By the end of your treatment, you will have a set of coping skills that will help you navigate life through its natural ups and downs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in social justice, cultural humility, compassion, and love. I think everyone has innate goodness. I never visualized I would be so lucky. I am from Mexico. My four siblings and I were raised in a low-income household. I am the first one in my family who became bilingual, and completed a Master's Degree in Counseling. I am not going to lie. Life hasn't always been easy. I have experienced hardship. I understand struggle and I have found my life's purpose helping others, particularly women. Therapy helped me to learn to value myself, develop self-compassion and heal. I became a therapist because I wanted to pass along the benefits that therapy has given me. Some of my family members call me a nerd. I could say that about myself too. I love being curious and learning new things like: Taking drum lessons and listening to new podcasts. I am a dreamer. I am a mom of two children . I love doing yoga, hiking, and chatting with friends. Contact me to learn more about how I can help.
