About My Clients
Most of my clients are smart, creative and savvy professionals, and usually have a pretty good sense of why they're meeting with me. It may be due to relationship challenges. It may due to managing ADHD, depression or anxiety. It may be due to managing the pressures of being a high-profile person. What my clients have in common is the desire to work closely on their challenges, and the ability to make a connection with their therapist, in this case, me!
My Background and Approach
This may sound technical and boring. My approach is a mix of therapeutic models. I use short-term cognitive-behavioral models, which are great for people with phobias, panic attacks, depression or with compulsive behaviors. I also use long-term psychodynamic approaches, which are wonderful for uncovering prior trauma and helping reconcile current feelings with earlier experiences and triggers. My work with couples follows a Gottman-like approach, with the goal to create a safe setting where we can focus on improving communication, acceptance, and overall the relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs play a small part in our work together. I have a Golden Doodle. I play around with a camera. I like gadgets. None of this plays a significant part in my work with you. I think it's pretty easy to tell when we talk whether there's a good connection...or not.
