Accepting Clients

When anxiety, OCD, and trauma take over, I help clients reclaim their lives and get unstuck.

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Maryland

About My Clients

My clients are reflective, curious, and intentional about taking steps toward personal growth. Sometimes, clients aren't sure how to name the challenges they're experiencing, and they just have a hunch that life doesn't have to be as hard as it is now. That's okay! You don't need a diagnosis or the perfect description of your symptoms to start counseling. I understand that disorders show up in diverse ways, and I take time to listen to my clients so that treatment can respond to their needs.

My Background and Approach

I received my master's degree from Loyola University in Maryland and I have post-master’s training in evidence-based interventions for OCD and trauma. Having been trained in both Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT, a non-exposure based treatment for OCD), and I enjoy offering clients choices for treating OCD. I also offer pastoral counseling as an optional treatment approach that integrates the strengths of a client's faith, and I have experience working with victims of clergy sexual abuse.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Stories matter to me. What’s yours? Where you live, what you studied, and what you do fill in a few details. But what about the bigger questions? What do you dream about? What do you believe about yourself–both good and bad–that you don’t dare voice to yourself or another person? What are your wounds and scars? How do you express love? These are the questions that matter to me, I believe it's never too later to write a new chapter, make edits, or dream up an entirely new storyline for life. In my own life, I have rewritten my own story a number of times! After experiencing significant loss in my 20s, grief and resilience became part of my story as navigated life after loss. As part of this journey, I volunteered as a table host with The Dinner Party, an organization that builds community among grieving young adults. Later, after working as a teacher and nonprofit leader, I became a therapist. If you'd like to explore whether counseling might help, send me a message.
