About My Clients
I primarily work with neurodiverse clients, but also specialize in men's issues, sexuality/kink/taboo concerns, relationship issues, and anxiety. Clients who come see me want to feel heard and understood while receiving clarity about the steps they can take to empower themselves towards the lives they want to live.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrated model of cognitive therapies and internal family systems (IFS) to help clients identify the sources of their distress. IFS teaches that we are composed of many different parts, which make up our personality and motivations. These parts don't always agree with each other (or even like each other!), so it's important to show compassion and understand towards the parts of ourselves that carry pain. Do you ever feel like you don't want to stay in a relationship, yet can't bear the thought of hurting someone? Do you feel like you want to pursue your dreams, but don't want to disappoint your parents? These are examples of parts competing with each other, and identifying the best course of action involves hearing out all parts of you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you already have the ingredients within you to thrive. Through our collaboration, we can empower the parts of you that want to take action and help you live your best life. I had my own doubts about the power of therapy when I was younger, and through my own journey have I realized the power of opening up to someone who is going to support you and help you thrive. I'm a believer in social justice, in the dignity of all people to express themselves as they see fit, in the de-stimgatizaton of sexuality, and in the empowerment of people who are neurodiverse. On the fun side of things, I'm a fan of bad sports teams, I think Spanish food is the best in the world, and am a big fan of quirky love stories.
