About My Clients
I work with individuals who want to look inward, explore what is important to them, and learn tools to overcome anxiety, pain, addiction, and trauma, and strive to build a therapeutic alliance based on trust, authenticity, warmth, and ease. Through trust and a strong alliance, I empower my clients to engage with helpful coping skills, improve their relationships, and increase self awareness/compassion to overcome challenges and find peace.
My Background and Approach
I have training in evidence-based treatments such as CBT, ACT, and DBT as well as specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, insomnia, behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal problems. I incorporate scientifically supported treatment modalities with a relational and individualized approach to each of my clients and brings warmth, humor, and compassion into each of the therapy sessions. My therapeutic approach is engaging and interpersonal, and I strive to meet clients where they are on their personal journeys. I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings, including school, community mental health, outpatient, and VA medical centers. I collaborate with my clients to help them identify their goals and treatment plan to assist them in moving towards their values to improve their overall well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and approach my work from multicultural framework, honoring the intersections of each of my client’s unique identities. I have extensive experience working with Veterans, LGBTQIA+, and artists/creatives, as well as survivors of trauma, harassment, and abuse.
