About My Clients

Are you feeling swamped by stress and the demands of life? Do you feel like your voice isn't heard and you're often misunderstood? Do you find yourself struggling to cope? Are you finding it challenging to cope, sometimes turning to substances for relief? Are you looking for support in navigating life's complexities and finding healthy coping mechanisms? Together, we'll empower you to make changes, ensure your voice is heard, and equip you with tools to navigate challenges effectively.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, and I hold a certification as a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC. I earned my Master's degree in Human Development Counseling from Bradley University in 2014. My professional journey has led me to work in diverse treatment settings focused on alcohol and substance use disorders. I've had the opportunity to assist clients facing co-occurring disorders, navigating both substance use and mental health challenges. I prioritize creating a safe and confidential environment where clients feel empowered to express their concerns openly. Employing a combination of evidence-based techniques and empathetic listening, I collaborate closely with clients to delve into their thoughts and emotions. Together, we identify areas for personal growth and develop tailored strategies for positive change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe life presents significant challenges, and everyone deserves a safe space to express their current experiences. I have faith in people's inherent goodness and their potential for growth, learning, and change at any stage of life. I'm a person who values humor and hope. I see humor as a coping mechanism many of us use, often unconsciously. Additionally, I believe hope plays a crucial role in the journey of change. Throughout my career, I've seen clients undergo incredible transformations, which never fails to astonish me. I hold the process of accompanying someone on their path to wellness in high regard. Some individuals reach their destination through a single journey, while others may need to explore multiple paths. There is no definitive "right way" to heal or move forward. I believe it's easy to lose sight of ourselves amidst life's chaos, often leaving us at the bottom of our own priority list. Prioritizing self-care is crucial to rebalance this dynamic.
