About My Clients
I have experience working with adults, teens, and children to process a variety of areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, attachment complications, LGBTQ+ related struggles, managing anger, parenting difficulties, and more. In my work with individuals, kids, and families we imagine how life can be different and collaboratively explore how to move forward. I believe in the power of encouragement and the importance of truth.
My Background and Approach
I am an integrative practitioner specializing in play therapy techniques, sand tray techniques, and expressive arts interventions. I also know that for some feelings can seem daunting or overwhelming and I utilize cognitive modalities or traditional "talk therapy" as well. My priority is meeting people where they are and my passion is to connect with those who are stuck or struggling and to chart new ways of being. I teach at Stetson University in the Graduate Counselor Education Program where I help young therapists learn how to connect with their clients not just through words but also through expressive arts, play, music, and more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that so much of our mental health dilemma occurs in childhood. I work with all ages because I believe that if I can help children and their parents work together with care and genuine love, that children may not need services in their adult years. So many adults that struggle today needed a therapist decades ago so I work with children and the adults that were hurt as children and never healed. I not only practice this in my clinical work but also by volunteering as I lead a family and marriage group weekly, teach at my alma mater, and volunteer with a local Elementary school to give back in the ways I can.
