My Approach to Helping
As a sex therapist, my approach is deeply rooted in a non-judgmental, inclusive perspective. I blend gentleness with direction. I strive to create a warm, accepting environment where clients feel safe and valued for who they are and their lived experiences. Whether they are exploring complex aspects of their sexuality, grappling with relational challenges, or processing intimate issues, my goal is to be an unwavering ally in their journey. My approach draws on principles of compassion, empathy, and inclusivity, recognizing that each client’s experience is unique and deserves thoughtful attention. In all of my work, I draw on relational, and person-centered principles. I believe in the healing power of empathy, mutual respect, and collaboration. By inviting clients to explore their lived experiences in a way that honors their values and aspirations, I hope to empower them to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and a stronger foundation for growth.
Why I Became a Therapist
Becoming a sex therapist was both a personal journey and a calling for me. Coming out as queer opened a path to understanding the complexity and beauty of sexuality, especially as I began to explore my own experiences. As I navigated my own sexuality, I found myself confronting layers of trauma, including deep-rooted religious trauma that had shaped my beliefs, relationships, and sense of self. I felt firsthand the confusion, isolation, and pain that can arise when one's authentic self is at odds with external expectations and doctrines. Through this journey, I was also given the gift of seeing the power of genuine, supportive relationships—connections that allowed space for vulnerability, growth, and healing. These experiences fueled my passion to create spaces for others to explore their own stories, work through trauma, and discover freedom in their lives. As a therapist, I am committed to walking alongside others as they reclaim their identities and or explore relationships.
