About My Clients
You get home from work and had every intention to cook dinner and go for a walk but you're exhausted so you end up on the couch scrolling. And then you stay up too late, trying to gain back some precious hours for yourself, you've been giving to everyone else all day, you deserve it! But then, it all starts over again. Exhausted in the morning. Over committed, saying yes to things you don't want to do, not feeling nourished by your relationships.
My Background and Approach
You don't have to do this alone. Together, we'll get curious about what's really happening, we'll get underneath the busyness, and taking care of other people, and what makes it so hard to say no. I'll support you in connecting to yourself in a way that maybe you haven't always had the space to do. My approach is warm, compassionate, direct, nonjudgmental and I also bring in humor and levity. I've been in the hard places myself and have seen many clients there as well, and I've also seen that change and relief are possible. I'm trained in approaches that work directly with the body, with trauma, and also in relational therapy that can bring new insight into relationship patterns and beliefs. This process can result in not just relief but more aliveness, vitality, flexibility, and spaciousness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing is possible, and that context matters. Our behaviors and patterns came from somewhere and while they might now be getting in the way, they also are rooted in wisdom, and at one point protected us and helped us to survive. Therapy is not about getting rid of parts of ourselves, but about increasing awareness so that we can have more choice in how we respond to the complexity of each moment.
