About My Clients

My clients are often folks who tend to be perfectionistic and hard on themselves. They achieve a lot, but not as much as they want to or at too high a cost to their well-being. They often struggle with assertiveness, self-confidence, and knowing how to release their fears and show up in the world in a way that makes them proud. They also tend to be sensitive, observant, and psychologically minded. Many of my clients are leaders and creatives.

My Background and Approach

I got my doctorate from the PGSP-Stanford Consortium where I studied evidence-based treatments and learned the value of helping people make sustainable life changes. I then did my post-doctoral training in adherent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (a blend of CBT and Zen philosophy and practice), which I fell in love with. I now practice in a DBT-Informed way with all my clients. From this philosophy, I believe it is vital to understand what thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are getting in the way of your goals and values and to help you develop skills to approach things in new ways. I use mindfulness, validation and compassion skills, identifying personal values, and behavioral techniques like goal setting, tracking, and reinforcement, to help you find a path to the life you are wanting to live. I will help you balance accepting your life in its reality with changing the aspects you can change. Together, we can make a profound difference in finding you life satisfaction and ease.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we live in a world where ignorance, fear, and a deep lack of wisdom create much of the harm and destruction I am seeking to reduce through my life practices and my work. Between climate change and social biases and violence, I know many people like myself are feeling overwhelmed, angry, and scared. I hope to align with my clients in helping them cope with these things however they need to. My role is to follow my client's values and goals and to do everything I can to reduce ways my own privilege and bias may impact them. I am deeply committed to doing my part to create a more just and equitable world where people of all identities can thrive and not infringe on the freedoms of others.
