About My Clients
I work with clients who are looking for a combination of improved insight and practical tools to improve their relationships with themselves and others. Many of my clients come from immigrant backgrounds, and I have a speciality in working with bicultural and multiracial clients around the gifts and challenges that experience can bring. My clinical expertise includes the treatment of anxiety, depression, transitional stress, burn out, identity issues, complex trauma and post-traumatic stress.
My Background and Approach
I work relationally, using the relationship we build together as a safe and brave space for self-exploration. This dynamic allows us to dive deep into your experiences, feelings, and patterns of behavior. I strive to create a collaborative environment by fostering a culture of consent in our sessions to mitigate the power imbalance between therapist and client. Transparency is another cornerstone of my practice. I often pull back the curtain to share my thoughts and reflections to promote active co-exploration. While I bring a variety of expertise to our sessions, I recognize that you are the true expert on your life. Additionally, I will encourage you to explore your emotions and bodily sensations. This holistic approach allows for a more integrated and deeper understanding of your experiences. Together, we will navigate your unique journey allowing you to gain clarity, develop emotional attunement, foster healthier relationships, and uncover your authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being a Sicilian and Indian first-generation American woman of color, born one of triplets into a family of six children, multiculturalism and intersectionality is at the heart of how I conduct therapy. Core to my approach and as one of my most sacred values, I honor diversity in its most complicated and beautiful manifestations. I believe the therapeutic space can be one of healing, liberation, and justice. If you’re like many of my clients, you may be struggling with burnout and self-doubt as you navigate challenging dynamics at work or with your family. Perhaps you are managing the expectations of important people in your life, or feeling boxed into roles you didn’t choose for yourself. Or maybe you’ve developed great skill at caring for other people, while never really getting the hang of caring for your own needs. Together, we can create a safe, judgement free, and supportive relationship that honors your unique story and facilitates the changes you are seeking.
