About My Clients
A lot of people think therapy is a one-sided conversation, with little opportunity to experience each other as real people. My clients know that I am as real as it gets! I want to help you achieve your goals, learn more about yourself, and understand how your mind and brain work. While progressing along this path, you will enjoy the process of learning about yourself and perceiving yourself in new ways. My experience is that therapy doesn't need to be painful.
My Background and Approach
I have worked as a neuropsychologist for over 25 years, and have worked in inpatient, outpatient, residential and private practice. I have trained other professionals, and although a lot of my experience is with people with brain trauma (stroke, TBIs, dementia) I also work with people who find anxiety, depression, trauma or resentment or interfering in their ability to enjoy life! We'll start with what's going on in the moment and I'll help you understand what is going on in your brain and body. I have a lot of tools which can help you with anxiety, sleep, anger and stress management, as well as many others. I am also board certified, and work with the board to ensure quality. I retired from my board and mortar practice during the pandemic, but found that I missed working with clients, and the past few years have been hard on people, and I decided to return to working with people online to help with the mental health crisis which has worsened so much recently.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone can grow and change, and unlearn unhealthy habits, replacing them with healthier ones. I don't discriminate against anyone, and make it a point to support community actions that encourage inclusivity, such as LGBTQ+, Black Lives Matter and Choice. I also think the Saints are the bomb, but I won't judge you if you disagree. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more about how I can help.
