About My Clients
I am passionate about working with diverse relational systems wanting to build feelings of emotional and physical connection, rebuild trust from attachment ruptures, turn toward intimacy and sex, and address conflict and communication patterns. I am interested in working with interracial and multicultural relationships and navigating cross-cultural dynamics. I also offer individual therapy with the objective to help you reconnect with your authentic self and work toward your goals and healing.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to create a space that invites you to explore your relationship dynamic and uncover patterns in the relationship that are no longer serving you or your partner(s). With couples, I aim to approach with a birds-eye view to identify "sticky points" in communication and conflict management patterns. Once identified, my goal is to provide you with tools to interrupt the conflict cycle and find a new way to communicate that doesn't feel harmful to the relationship and people involved. I also work with clients addressing challenges with connecting intimately and creating space where each partner can express their needs and work toward connection and feelings of safety around intimacy. For individuals, my goal is to create a space where you can build confidence and work toward building a narrative that honors and validates your experiences and authentic self. I work with clients to identify tools to address mental health concerns and navigate life stressors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am trained in systems theory and use an integration of emotionally focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and internal family systems. I believe that integrating modalities is the best way to create a treatment plan that best fits each client's needs and allows for flexibility in how I approach each individual or relational system. Growing up as a transracial and transnational Chinese adoptee, I experienced the benefits of talk therapy firsthand. Through my own therapy, I have been able to address attachment wounds and the impact they have had on my mental health. While it's an ongoing process, I believe therapy is a great resource for healing past hurts, and for identifying strengths and coping skills that allow you to move toward the future you want.
