About My Clients
Everyone deserves a safe therapeutic space and a chance to build a life worth living. I’m here to help with both. I believe in the transformative power of therapy in helping navigate life's challenges, cultivate self-awareness, and build resilience to enhance their quality of life. My specialty is working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder utilizing DBT. I also work with anxiety, depression, self-worth, trauma recovery, and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
My approach is integrative and eclectic, utilizing evidence-based techniques such as DBT, CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, strength-based, and narrative therapy to assist clients in moving towards healing and wholeness. I believe everyone brings their own experiences, backgrounds and strengths into the counseling office and strive to incorporate these to create personalized therapy for each individual. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2014 and have been a LPC in TX since 2017 as well as a LPCC in California since 2024. I have been practicing DBT and working with individuals with BPD since 2013 and have completed multiple trainings, certifications and continuing education in this area of therapy to maintain the highest degree of expertise and training. I have previously worked in Community Mental Health, inpatient substance abuse treatment, and group practice before starting Intrinsic Worth Counseling Services in 2022.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of therapy and have worked personally and professionally to reduce negative stigma around mental health and therapy. Everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space to grow, heal and build a life worth living. My goal is to provide such a space for each client. When I am not counseling, I love spending time with my family, enjoying the wide variety of delicious cuisine around my home in LA, reading, watching baseball and basketball, and baking. I believe that being the best counselor I can be is a result of caring well for myself outside of the office and I work daily to engage in balancing activities and self care.
