About My Clients
I originally became a therapist because I needed one when I became a paraplegic in 1997. I almost couldn’t find one with a physical disability so I became one. I also know the specific issues with being in the LGBTQIA+ community because I identify within as pansexual. I also grew up in the church and understand those feelings denial and hating myself. I have since become comfortable and accepting of who I am and that I’m worthy. This also enables me to help with self esteem issues.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy as my client and I are a team with goals. I well versed in trauma. I use a technique called Brainspotting and Polyvagal Theory to rewire the brain and nervous system to get the trauma in the body unstuck. I work within the body. Have you been in talk therapy and been frustrated that you haven’t made progress? That’s not your fault! You can’t talk your way out of trauma. It’s biologically impossible. Let’s work on it together. I'm a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Specialist (CNAS). I'm also a survivor. This type of emotional abuse is very isolating. I work with client to deshame behaviors around it and the emotional dysregulation resulting from this insidious type of abuse.
