About My Clients
If you've made it here, you’re ready to work through the trauma. You'd like to find a way to make life less painful. And, what if life could be gentler and more stable? What if you didn’t have to feel on edge or down and out?
My Approach to Helping
I’ve got the fancy techniques to help you like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), but also that dark sarcastic humor that’s helped you to get through all this stuff. We’ll use those fancy techniques to help you navigate the minefield of pain so you can come out the other side. When we experience trauma, it can get stuck in parts of your brain and body. Our work together allows it to be metabolized by your whole brain, and by extension, your body. Your mind doesn’t have to feel like a haunted house anymore. And, the best part is we'll do it from the comfort of your own home. As an all virtual practice you can skip the traffic & get support in a space that feels familiar to you.
My Values as a Therapist
A few things have helped me be a better therapist. One being, I've had my own awful experiences that have stuck with me for worse and now for better. I've been on the other side of "the couch" and I know, intimately, the courage it takes to show up and do the work in therapy. In this practice, while we work to bring more joy into your life, we also do in depth work. I'm not afraid of my own shadow and I help you make nice with yours. Too, being a white, cis gendered, hetro woman in a mixed family some of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities it is especially important for me to be an ally. While I would never say I'm an expert, I am a life long learner of how to better support members of the BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQ+, and intersectional communities. Last but not least, I am an empath. I make it a point to feel with my clients and to remember I am a fellow traveler in the therapy space.
