I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
My Background and Approach
Together we will build towards finding more balance and working through past stresses and traumas that hold you back. I work from several different theoretical orientations. I use Hakomi (somatic-centered mindfulness, re-parenting etc), Bowen Family systems theory-when working with families and couples, CBT for symptoms of anxiety, EFT when our focus is more on trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think that as therapists, it is our responsibility to maintain an open and loving view of all people. I believe that this is a natural way that humans are oriented and can be found underneath anxiety, trauma, depression, bullying, etc. When we feel unable to open up to others, our thoughts can get stuck in a loop that is hard to untangle and even harder to resolve. Counseling facilitates a deeper processing that can help you get unstuck mentally. When we aren’t stuck mentally, we can change our actions and improve our life.
