Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Denver, CO

About My Clients

Be it anxiety, depression, coming out, life transitions, gender exploration, work-life balance, or achievement pressure, I am here to help. As part of our work together, we will creatively explore how to step out of your comfort zone, while taking good care of yourself. Choosing to change is scary, and worth it. You’re not in this alone.

My Background and Approach

In my work at Rooted Acorn Counseling, I focus on supporting and empowering adults and teens who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I love working with and have specific experience with gender identity, anxiety, teens, values exploration, overachievers, addiction as well as grief and loss. I strongly align with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (pronounced as "ACT") as a treatment approach. As part of therapy, we will focus on areas in your life where you feel stuck, and help you to reconnect with or identify values as well as help you to live life fully even if it’s scary. Part of this is feeling feelings. Another part of this is slowing down and getting present in your life. Curious to learn more about how my approach can help? Let’s talk! My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My practice is one of curiosity and getting to know how I can specifically support you. Connecting with people, authenticity, and extending compassion are some of the most important parts of therapy. A priority of mine is to offer a therapy space that is accepting and warm, so folks feel comfortable to show up just as they are. I also strive to empower you as the client as you are the best source of knowledge on you. Know as well that I am working on what I bring to our therapy work together. This awareness of my own identities (e.g. queer) and past histories allows me to be present for you. I value your feedback and believe that therapy cultivates growth and healing when it is a collaboration between client and therapist.
