About My Clients

I specialize in working with teens and their families, men's issues, and couples. Are you feeling... A strong inner desire to live healthy and whole? Fatigue from relational burnout at home, with friends, organizationally, or within yourself? Shame related to addiction, past trauma, or a strong inner critic? Spiritual homelessness, questioning, or trauma? Fear of the unknown, of being “too much” or “too little,” or simply not knowing where to begin but knowing things need to shift?

My Background and Approach

Although specializing in work with men, teens, and couples, I work with a variety of presentations, life experiences, and demographics. Clients who have worked with me would tell you that my approach to them is warm, gentle, curious, direct, and deeply relational. It is my belief that what is broken in relationship is healed in relationship. Clients value the relationship that they form with me, and the transformative work that happens when relational vulnerability is matched with unwavering relational security. My partnership with you will feel… 1) Full of hope that is tethered to your humanness rather than empty optimism; 2) Grounded and safe, but disruptively kind; and 3) Like you can focus on you and not worry about taking care of me. Teens that work with me say I am safe, fun, relatable, and authentic in my approach to them. Parents say that I am trustworthy, resourceful, and highly collaborative. Couples share that they feel equally heard and challenged.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all are made up of various identities. I am a therapist, and I am also a Christian. What does this mean? My Christian values and identity will be experienced by how I sit with you far more than what I say to you. As a Christian therapist, I believe my work in partnering with you is to find common ground in what makes us human. I have no desire to impose or project my values on to your experience. I believe this is deeply harmful and anti-therapeutic. Whether you come from similar values or drastically different ones, my longing is to always lead with curiosity and invitation rather than demands and obligation. You get to come as you are, and be held as you are. Everyone has a seat at the table. I value letting clients determine how much they want to incorporate their faith into their work, and this is different for everyone ranging from all backgrounds and belief systems. "Spiritual trauma is when someone hands you an inner critic and tells you it is the voice of God." -H. McBride
