About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I graduated from Mercer University in 2021 with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to that, I attended the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor's in Psychology. For the past three years, I've worked in schools with various ages to work with clients to identify ways to process trauma, teaching coping skills and emotional identification to parents, individuals, and school staff. I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and am currently working towards my certification as an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). Aside from my professional experience, I have lived with ADHD and anxiety my whole life. As a late diagnosed ADHD Black Woman, I have been in the process of grieving the life I could've had with a diagnosis, learning how to manage life with executive dysfunction challenges, and managing relationships. My experience affords me a strong ability to connect with my clients and offer support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a few core beliefs as a therapist. First, I want my clients to come as they are. There is no judgement or shame in my therapy room. I am an LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse, HAES affirming therapist and this one of the most important aspects of forming safety in the space. It doesn't matter how many trainings I have done, what I'm certified in, or my licensure status - I always see my clients as the expert in their lives. I am merely a guide or support to help you get to where you want to be. You are the driver, and I'm navigating with the GPS. Collaboration is huge in therapy and I want you to feel like an equal part of this process. Tell me what you need and I will cater your treatment to what feels right.
