About My Clients
Finding a therapist who's comfortable and experienced with your identity is important. At my core, I believe making therapy a safe and effective space for those who have marginalized identities is key to being a therapist. If you've ever felt uncomfortable going to therapy because of any identity, I hope to make this a safe experience for you! My specialities include sex positivity, DBT, MBT, chronic illness and emotion regulation.
My Background and Approach
What's most important to me is that whatever we are doing feels comfortable, safe and effective for you. I rely a lot on your feedback, and will be checking in consistently about how you feel things are going in therapy. Every client is different, and I want to work together to create a therapy space that works well for you. In my sessions, I use techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mentalization Based Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I have experience working with clients who are kinky, nonmonogamous and LGBTQIA+. I also have extensive experience working with clients who struggle with emotion dysregulation, relationship issues and distress tolerance. I have also spent time working with individuals with eating disorders. I have spent time working with clients of all ages, but am currently accepting clients ages 12 and older.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I received my social work degree in 2018 from Fordham University. Since then, it's been my mission to incorporate social justice into my practice. I believe that understanding the ways in which the systems around us impact us is needed in order to heal. Along with being a therapist, I've spent extensive time training other clinicians how to be sex positive in their practices by providing supervision and didactic trainings. I want therapy to be a space where all people feel accepted one day.
