About My Clients
It can seem impossible to solve complex issues, build stronger relationships, and learn a new way of being. If it was easy, you would already have the resolutions you are seeking! You are not incapable of building the life you want- you just haven't had the right opportunities or support. In our sessions, we will combine your insight with my clinical training and experience to achieve new outcomes. I know that whatever you are grappling with, we can handle it together. I can't wait to meet you!
My Background and Approach
I have a variety of training that supports my passion for healing, and I continuously seek additional education to both deepen and expand my work. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with an MA in Art Therapy/Marriage and Family Therapy. I have an art history BA from the University of Florida. Prior to becoming a therapist, I studied and worked as a yoga teacher and personal trainer. I completed a psychodynamic internship and am additionally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C) and Trauma-Focused CBT. I can provide an eclectic mix of psychodynamic, CBT/DBT, mindfulness, and Trauma Resilience (TRM) interventions to support our work together. I have experience in both private practice and community mental health, and I am committed to a culturally curious stance in both my professional work and personal life. My diverse education allows me to be a flexible and creative therapist who considers the impact of whole-body wellness on your mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is hard work, but it is work worth doing. I believe in honoring your commitment to the process with my own commitment to presence, focus, and attunement in every session. I will ask for and respond to your feedback throughout the therapy process, because I believe that therapy is a co-created healing experience. I maintain an actively humble stance, and will often defer to your inner knowledge. Just because I am trained does not mean that I know you better than you know yourself! I practice from a culturally humble stance and engage in personal social justice work outside of sessions. I feel strongly about sharing my privileges to make our global home a safe space for all. I offer sliding scale therapy slots, please reach out if you are in need.
