About My Clients
I will work to understand your “whys” in life and how your upbringing and family impact who you are today. I work with couples, families, and individuals to address trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting, LGBTQIA+ issues, and other life stressors. I have an interest in religious trauma, and I have special training in Brainspotting, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Psychological First Aid. We will use these tools to reframe the past, rewrite your life’s narrative, and help you move forward.
My Background and Approach
I am currently a graduate student at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota – Twin Cities working towards a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Being a therapist is a second career for me; my first was in the healthcare and hospitality industries, primarily in the fields of customer experience, leadership development, and training.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My own journey with therapy - reconciling the embedded shame of my religious upbringing, my sexual orientation, and struggles in relationships - led me to a career change to Marriage and Family Therapy. I am passionate about helping clients unlearn unhealthy ways of thinking, give them tools to cope during high-stress times, and begin the process of healing.
