About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals and couples to discover their sense of self and the complexity of their parts; engage their sexuality; and build healthy relationships. Many of my clients seek counseling for a variety of reasons such as anxiety, depression, shame, boundary issues, trauma, life transitions and self-worth. I am LGBTQIA+, poly, and kink affirming. I also co-facilitate a womxn's process group with my colleague, Sophia Mehl, LMHC. Please visit my website for details.
My Background and Approach
As a holistic therapist, I will attend to your emotions, thoughts, physical experiences, and spiritual understanding. The techniques I use are diverse, and tailored to your needs. My practice is grounded in feminist therapy and is relational in nature. I frequently draw from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory – all evidence-based approaches that help clients develop insight, sort through the messiness of our world, and make observable and impactful changes in their lives. I work from sex-positive and anti-oppression frameworks.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe who you have become – your identities, worldview, wellbeing, and how you relate to others – has been shaped by the systems surrounding you. Our cultural worlds and the power relations in which we are located are often central to the challenges we face. I will listen to your stories to gain an understanding of how your background and social environment have shaped you and your relationships. I will intently listen to your stories to gain an understanding of how your background and social environment have shaped you and your relationships.
