About My Clients
Katy understands the anxiety and day-to-day challenges that come with becoming a parent. Big life transitions such as parenthood, pregnancy, career changes, grief/loss, and unexpected life changes can often leave us feeling overwhelmed. Katy also has a special interest in working with clients who are feeling stuck in life; who are facing challenges and crossroads in their careers, family life, and relationships and want to figure out new ways to navigate these difficulties.
My Background and Approach
Katy completed her undergraduate work at Haverford College and received her Master’s in Music Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University. Katy values authenticity and takes a humanistic approach to therapy. Whether it’s through music-making, talking, and/or listening, she believes that therapy is an opportunity to explore one’s identity and find ways to grow, heal, and change. Katy prides herself on developing unique therapeutic relationships with each client and values diversity and creativity in her approaches to therapy. As a board certified music therapist, Katy understands the powerful role of music in our lives and in therapy. Whether listening to music or creating our own, music allows us to explore emotions and thoughts in a different way. Katy believes that we all have a unique story to tell, and that expression and connection through music can be a profound pathway to self-exploration and understanding.
