About My Clients

My clients are the ones who have felt a shakeup in their self-understanding over the last several years. They're the ones who suspect or know they're neurodivergent and are trying to understand how that fits into who they are. They're the ones who tend to sit on the outskirts of what others consider "the norm" and like being there. They're the ones who have complex histories, complex feelings, maybe some religious trauma, and a desire to understand themselves on a deeper level.

My Background and Approach

I'm a neurodivergent therapist whose background is in ADHD/ASD/AuDHD, working with the LGBTQIA+ community, ENM/poly experiences, recovering from purity culture and deconstructing high control religion, and processing grief and loss and all the existential questions that come along for the ride. I come to my clients with authenticity, empathy, curiosity, lots of humor (and a bit of a potty mouth). Therapy with me is a place where the whole of who you are is accepted and welcomed without shame or judgment - all of what makes you “you” belongs in the therapy room, including the stuff you love and the stuff you don't love so much about yourself. And I will meet you there for all of it. We'll work together to figure out what works best for you. I am passionate about the work that I do and I really believe that honest, deep, life-changing work can be done when we feel safe enough to be fully who we are in therapy. This world is freaking hard and no one should have to go through it alone.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that no matter who we are, where we've come from, or what we've had to do to survive this far, we are all capable of growing into more of who we want to be with the right support. We can get stuck in the idea of "I guess this is just who I am" or "I guess this is just how the world is" - I've been there myself, and it's a crappy place to be. I like helping people get unstuck, which means looking more closely at the labels we carry (like "lazy" or "too much" or "failed potential" or "not good enough") to figure out who gave us those labels and re-write them. I believe that humanity is made better when we listen to others' stories as well as learn to listen to our own. I believe that all people deserve dignity and a chance at a life that is safe, secure, and free from systemic oppression, and that the only way we get to that place is by critically examining ourselves. I'm a lifelong fangirl, companion of two dopey cats, amateur ukulele player, and all-around enthusiastic human.
