About My Clients
Life at this stage can feel overwhelming, especially when faced with challenges related to relationships, career choices, identity exploration, and the many uncertainties of the world today. I understand the complexities of these experiences and offer a warm, open, and non-judgmental space for you to explore them. You may be seeking clarity in your gender expression, experiencing anxiety around climate change and politics, deciding to have kids or not, or figuring out a new career trajectory.
My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in social justice, and I'm dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment that is diverse and inclusive of many healing philosophies. I am actively engaged in decolonizing my practice, working to dismantle oppressive systems, and fostering healing and connection within our community. I lean towards somatic and experiential therapies. I prefer to work with clients about what is underneath their struggles and experiences, rather than teach them how to "think" their way out of how they are feeling. We can utilize a variety of methods to do this -- I enjoy using art, sandtray, EMDR, IFS (internal family systems), and somatic based therapies to help you explore your inner world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that existing under oppressive, capitalistic systems is the root cause of much of our suffering. I believe in increasing connection to community, to the earth, and to our ancestors. I am trying to engage with my community to make changes that will impact people more than individual therapy will. This includes being a councilwoman for the Hennepin County Local Advisory Council on Adult Mental Health, connecting with my locally elected officials on a weekly basis, and participating in marches/rallies/etc. for important causes (#FreePalestine!).
