About My Clients

Are you a new mom struggling with postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or intrusive thoughts? Do you sometimes regret becoming a mother or feel disconnected from your baby? Do your feel you are doing a bad job or feel isolated and alone? The experience of giving birth and having a new baby can lead to very painful mental health struggles that can often cause women guilt and shame. Many new moms have thoughts they feel they need to keep hidden. You are not alone.

My Background and Approach

Do you worry that you're not being the best mom you can be? Do you struggle with thoughts that scare you – thoughts that you try to keep hidden from others? The truth is, this is a transition and a journey that you can navigate successfully with a little guidance. Remember, this is where you start, not where you finish. By sitting still, you may feel even more isolated and disconnected, missing opportunities to connect deeply with your baby. Allowing shame to take hold might prevent you from taking steps toward wellness. Your presence here indicates that you want the best for your baby, yourself, and your family. If you reach out, you can feel more connected and supported. Investing in wellness ensures you don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this important time with your baby. As a Perinatal Mental Health Treatment Specialist, PMH-C, and trauma therapist with 20 years of experience in the field, I use evidence-based practices like EMDR and CRT to guide you on your path to wellness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I know how difficult it can be adjusting to new motherhood while coping with a traumatic childbirth. I successfully raised an amazing son despite not knowing how to bond with him after his release from the NICU and while experiencing Postpartum Depression. I did not know how I was going to cope with his traumatic delivery or feel like the self I was before his birth, but I found a way to thrive with a little guidance. I decided to concentrate on perinatal health because of this lived experience and because I feel that the bond between a mother and her baby is one of the most healing relationships that exist. I feel that if I can help guide mothers on their path to wellness, they can be more attuned to their babies. This strengthened relationship heals the mother and gives the baby what they need to form a solid foundation upon which all future relationships are built. A healthy mama can provide her baby with everything they need to grow and thrive.
