About My Clients
Are you someone who uses humor to hide your emotions? Are you anxious about expressing yourself to others or showing vulnerability? Is fear or anxiety a guide in your life and affecting your day to day life? Do you project to others that you "have it all together" but not actually feel that way on the inside? Do you and your partner feel disconnected and wanting to feel more connected? Do you want to heal from trauma or an eating disorder? I work with you to gain skills and insights for change.
My Background and Approach
Megan has been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004 and is licensed as such in Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, and the US Virgin Islands. Prior to opening her own practice in 2010, Megan worked in inpatient, residential, and outpatient centers and worked with people around a variety of therapy needs: substance abuse, domestic violence, people who were looking to find recovery from an eating disorder, people who were healing from trauma, couples and families, and individuals working to find ways to more effectively manage their emotions, particularly around anxiety and depression. In Arizona, Megan served as the Clinical Director of two different agencies, one focusing on treatment for domestic violence and substance abuse and one focusing on treatment for eating disorders. As part of these positions, Megan was responsible for program oversight and the professional development and supervision of clinical staff.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy should provide a safe and open space to explore one's inner world or relationship in order to feel able to make desired changes. I accept people of all faiths, gender identification, and sexual orientation. The world can be a painful place to live in at times, and I do my best to provide a welcoming environment to support people to work through pain in order to grow and evolve into more effective and fulfilled ways of living, individually and in a relationship.
