About My Clients
Are you or a loved one struggling with a major life change, anxiety, depression, grief, or burnout? Do you experience Body-Focused-Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) like Trichotillomania or skin-picking? I specialize in working with individuals and families to overcome these challenges. My comprehensive approach considers all aspects of your life, and I'll provide you with evidence-based techniques and strategies to reduce anxiety and alleviate symptoms of BFRBs, depression, and burnout.
How I Can Help You
I work from a systemic frame of reference and consider the whole family in treatment. I am a collaborative clinician and will help people tap into their current resources along with building new skill sets to overcome life’s obstacles. I incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy concepts, skills, and mindfulness into treatment with individuals and families. I also incorporate Play therapy approaches with my younger clients. I pride myself in helping clients learn to balance change and acceptance in their everyday lives. I help clients build mindfulness skills, learn how to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, communicate effectively, and ultimately live the life they want for themselves. My goal is for my clients to have a unique therapeutic relationship that will allow space for personal growth and learning new ways to navigate life. Therapy can be intimidating already, finding the best fit therapist is so important.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
I'm a therapist dedicated to LGBTQ+ and non-binary inclusivity, racial justice advocacy, and embracing neurodiversity, sex-positivity, and body positivity. Guided by an intersectional feminist perspective, I include feminist family therapy in my practice. I actively work to challenge and divest from practices and norms within the mental health field that uphold oppressive systems and supremacy culture, embrace a liberation-oriented approach, and prioritize cultural humility. I have a special passion for helping people with body-focused repetitive behaviors as I have also had a personal experience with my own BFRB and understand how difficult it can be to find a knowledgeable and trained provider and the anxiety and shame that comes with it. I'm passionate about aiding fellow therapists and emerging professionals, recognizing the importance of ongoing growth and support in our demanding field.
