About My Clients
In my practice, I support clients in grief. Grief takes on many forms, whether it be a loss of a relationship, divorce, death, or other unwelcome ending. I support young widows, survivors of suicide loss, and orphaned adults who feel alone in their grief and don’t know how to ask for the support they need. Often, anxiety is present in grief and can look like high achievement drive, perfectionism, dismissing your needs, people pleasing, desire for control and inability to lean on others.
My Background and Approach
A 2007 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work, I've been practicing in the field for the past 17 years. I take an eclectic approach in my work, drawing on a variety of modalities to best serve my clients. I offer online counseling and therapy across several states. And I offer EMDR therapy, which is a wonderful complement to more traditional talk therapy approaches, offering rapid resolution of our stuck points. Therapy with me is influenced many therapeutic perspectives, but is always strength-based, trauma-informed and values-driven.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Resilence. Growth. Transformation. No matter our circumstances, we can grow and change, even against the toughest odds. Humans are inherently resilient and can do HARD things. No matter what you're going through, there is a beacon of light on the horizon. Sometimes, all you need is a little therapeutic support and guidance to get you where you're going.
