About My Clients
Always feeling anxious, burned out, exhausted, on edge? Ready to enter a path towards self examination and change? It is possible to stop suffering and grow towards the best you and your best life. I specialize in women’s issues, anxiety, OCD, burnout, grief, & depression and have a wide range of tools to teach and share. I also love working with moms who are supporting kids or loved ones with mental or physical health conditions.
My Background and Approach
From the moment we start working together, I want you to feel seen and supported while stretched towards the change that you desire. I earned my PhD in Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology from Utah State University in 2006. Based on my tenure in the field, I have worn many hats from primary therapist to C suite leadership. I have been fortunate to work with some of the best and brightest minds in the areas of Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment, Trauma, Applied Neuroscience, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy to understand of the root causes of illness-mind and body. I have the expertise to tailor my approach to what suits you and help you address the underlying factors that lead you to the point you are at today, so you don’t keep repeating self defeating patterns. I am excited to work with you to develop self compassion and skills to work through your particular challenges as well as celebrate progress and change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of therapy and have witnessed the profound impact of this work alongside clients thousands of times! In my teens, I lost multiple friends to suicide and substance abuse. I became aware of mental health struggles within my family and friend network, which solidified my desire to gain the skills to be able to make a true impact on other people’s lives. I have a reverence for the process of helping people grow and become their best selves. I trained at my University’s first Ally training and continue to learn how to create an accepting and inclusive environment for all clients, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Based on 15 years within the eating disorders field, I am a Health at Every Size (HAES) practitioner and a fat positive clinician. I am a life long learner. When I am not nerding out about neuroscience, I love practicing presence in the mountains, playing with my kids, tending my garden, and snuggling my dog and rescue kitties.
