About My Clients
My clients tend to be motivated individuals who need some help understanding themselves and their patterns in order to make meaningful changes in their lives. I especially love working with the queer community, people struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating, as well as trauma survivors. I will make space for whatever you bring in, and we will heal from it together using skills, humor, and understanding.
My Background and Approach
I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma and my background is in higher levels of care. I work with a psychodynamic and somatic approach and incorporate skills and other techniques as needed. I draw from CPT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and every other acronym. I am a health at every size clinician and am always happy to collaborate with other members of your care team as needed, as well as advocate for your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy should be a space to help you better understand yourself and how you got to where you are now. My job is to help you do just that. I work from a non-judgmental, empathetic, and attuned place, to help you feel supported throughout your process. I believe therapy should be collaborative, and while not always comfortable, you will always feel safe and heard. We may laugh, you may cry, and you may laugh while you cry. Wherever you’d like to go, I’d like to go there with you. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and welcome patients of all backgrounds and identities. I take great care in recognizing my own privilege in the therapeutic relationship, as well as in the world.
