About My Clients
I work with college students and adults struggling with issues from anxiety to life transitions, ADHD, learning disabilities, adoption, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues. My commitment to providing a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space has allowed my clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences freely. I have successfully worked with folks from many different identities and backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I have been a clinical social worker for 10 years and have worked with diverse populations from community mental health to outpatient substance use disorder treatment. My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a affirming, supportive, and transformative space for my clients. Your journey is unique to you, and I employ a range of treatment modalities tailored to your individual needs and goals. I can help you uncover the connections between your past experiences and your present self. My clinical approach is eclectic and unique to each client. I was trained in trauma-focused CBT and also utilize motivational interviewing and psychodynamic theories. I have additional training in adoption competency and have worked with adult adoptees and adoptive parents. I am also experienced in helping neurodivergent folks navigate school and the workplace, including support with requesting reasonable accommodations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe each of us carries the tools for our own healing and it's a therapist's role to guide that to realization. I appreciate the rich tapestry of human experiences and embrace diversity in all its forms. Your story is unique and valid. You'll find a safe haven here, free from judgment, where your identity, culture, and background are honored and respected. I firmly believe in the inherent worth and potential of each person I work with. I try to hold a space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions.
