About My Clients
I work with children (4-13), adolescents (13-18), adults, and seniors. My first career was as a teacher and I really enjoy working with youth struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, trauma, grief and stress. I also love working with adults in all of the above including life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I am a psychotherapist with a background in Existential Humanism and include Brainspotting, Sand Tray, and Art therapy as well as talk therapy to help my clients heal. I strive to connect with my clients by seeing, hearing and valuing them where they are, in the here and now. I aspire to give without judgment and to strengthen and sustain the client in the work they want to do. In my practice, I “sit with” my clients and challenge them to take risks and explore their issues and ideas so that they can better understand what’s going on within themselves. Ultimately, I work with them to gain awareness of themselves, and for them to access the person they want to be, inside and out. I like to share ideas and interventions that will help clients feel more empowered to follow their dreams and goals in their present and their future. With empathy and compassion, I walk with them on their journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I use art therapy, play therapy, and yoga therapy as tools to unlock emotions and help heal past and present trauma. I also use Sand tray, mindfulness, and meditation as interventions. I have been very successful in using Brainspotting to heal past and present trauma in adults, teens, and kids. I believe in compassion and understanding as well as a no-nonsense approach to dealing with issues. I believe that I am a fellow traveler on your journey and aim to meet you where you are with humor and empathy.
