About My Clients

I honor the uniqueness of LGBT+, queer, and creative persons, guiding them through therapeutic journeys with depth and empathy. Together, we explore histories, identity, relationships, dreams, and creative process, fostering growth, confidence, and healing in an affirming space. You may wish to reflect on a world out of balance, the impacts of systemic trans/homophobia or racism, or witnessing ecological demise. Therapy is ultimately a unique studio to further embrace your true path.

My Background and Approach

Integrative depth psychology is a collaborative, mindfulness-based therapy that works to help you feel more grounded in the present, capable of navigating your life and achieving your goals. Importantly, this approach brings together diversity and LGBTQ affirmative therapy as well as different trauma-informed modalities. In this way you can access a deeper sense of empowerment by working through areas of difficulty, sometimes rooted in the past, that can underlie anxiety, depression, intimacy issues, or addictions. As a result, many will notice a growing and lasting resiliency in the form of greater calm, energy for life, capacity for close relationships, connection to community, cultural ancestries, and what brings you a sense of purpose.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

After decades of training and practice in depth psychology, I resonate with this approach, having experienced its transformative power firsthand as a client. Growing up, I often felt different, believing my sexuality and gender queerness were shameful and best to hide away. Then the AIDS crisis seemed to only magnify these negative beliefs that left me and so many of us feeling frightened and overwhelmed. I found the help of a skilled therapist, where I was able to confront old beliefs that hindered my self-worth and relationships, as well as to grieve the losses of the epidemic. Guided by my healing journey, I pursued training to become a therapist nearly 30 years ago. My practice is dedicated to serving the LGBT+, queer, and creative arts communities. I'm inspired to help others overcome negative self-beliefs, often rooted in past experiences or societal prejudice, and discover their truth, confidence, purpose, and capacity to love and be loved fully.
