About My Clients
In addition to conducting individual psychotherapy with young adults (18+) on issues of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship management, stress and grief/loss, I specifically enjoy addressing family of origin, individuation and identity formation struggles. I also am drawn to working with marginalized groups (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Individuals with Disabilities) and when addressing issues of trauma, utilize a trauma-informed approach.
My Background and Approach
For my clients, I offer a safe and confidential space to discuss and work through various emotional and psychological struggles. I aim to be thoughtful and compassionate as well as firm and deliberate in my approach. Above all, I hold strongly to the belief that true change best takes place in a vulnerability welcoming and shame-free environment. With almost 20 years of experience in mental health, I have worked in various settings, including residential treatment centers, college counseling centers, and hospitals. Primarily trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, dynamics I explore with my clients include uncomfortable emotions, past experiences, recurrent themes/patterns, unconscious material, and our ways of relating to each other. Most importantly, I collaborate with my clients on what is most helpful in our work together.
